Commissioner and team visit Brussels

On 24 and 25 May 2023, the Commissioner and his team were in Brussels to engage with European stakeholders. The visit was facilitated by Scottish Government to enable the Commissioner to explain the policy and legislative framework around biometrics in Scotland and to learn of emerging policy, practice, and procedure in EU member states.

During the visit, meetings were held at the French Permanent Residence, with diplomatic staff at the UK Mission, at the Belgian National Institute for Criminalistics and Criminology, at Brussels Police Headquarters, and with European Digital Rights (EDRi).

The Commissioner and his team also delivered a short input to diplomatic staff at Scotland House.
